Community Involvement

community involvement The Old Brewery Mission is a non-profit organization that has been working with Montreal’s homeless men and women since 1889. Support and assistance are offered according to two principles: to respond to the basic needs of homeless people and to find practical, sustainable solutions to the problem of homelessness. Our goal is to offer our clients the opportunity to see the Mission as a starting point rather than a final destination.
community involvement To provide general and specialized care of the highest quality in a safe, humane and caring manner, with an emphasis on specialized and ultra-specialized care. To develop and promote an environment for leadership and excellence in health sciences education. To encourage and support research in order to advance the knowledge of the prevention, cause and treatment of illness and health. To actively participate in and lead the development and evaluation of new technologies in order to enhance patient care. We also recognize that the talent and commitment of our staff contribute to our strength. We will continue to foster a work environment where each person is valued, respected and supported in professional endeavors and educational programs for personal and professional growth.
community involvement Our doctors, nurses and staff consider themselves part of your extended family and our hospital as your home when your child is not well. We welcome, support and respect each child, teenager and family member who comes through our doors. Parents are our ‘partners’ in care because, by working together, we can provide your child and every child with the medical attention they deserve. It is our responsibility to make sure Quebec children have timely access to treatment in a caring environment. Our goal is not only to provide groundbreaking care but also to develop and recommend measures that will help prevent illness and injury before they happen.
community involvement When we founded this organization, we founded it on an underlying principal of zero waste. We wanted to ensure that every dollar donated is used to fund the project and not an employee salary. Although their contributions can never be undervalued, many charities continue to only distribute as low as 40% of their collected money. And so, we have created an elaborate system that enables us to fund projects with 100% efficiency while additionally giving the donator an option to redeem his original contributed amount, leaving us both the interest and appreciated value of his donation. In fact, we believe that our system will forever change the way charities collect money, moving from the term “donation” to “investment”.
